Employee Spotlight: Sophia Fugere
One of our favorite things about running a small, family-owned business is getting to know the amazing people who choose to grow with us.
This month, we’re honored to spotlight Sophia Fugere, someone we’ve come to admire deeply.
Sophia might describe herself as shy — and she is — but don’t let that fool you. She brings intention, reliability, and quiet strength to her work every day, and our team (and customers) are better for it.

A Young Professional on the Rise
Sophia is currently working toward her Business Administration degree in Accounting at Sonoma State University.
That’s a demanding path — and she’s walking it while being a steady, calming force on our team.
We see her future clearly: bright, capable, and full of promise.
“ATCO encourages us all to grow personally, professionally, and academically,” she told us.
We love that she feels that support — because it’s something we care deeply about.
“I enjoy that ATCO encourages us to work together to accomplish goals and growth.”
That mindset? It’s everything.
True Service, From the Heart
Sophia has a special way of handling customer conversations — with a quiet confidence and sincere care that puts people at ease.
“Money can be a very stressful subject,” she shared. “So any opportunity I have to make things easier on the customer, I strive to make it happen.”
We’ve watched her do just that — again and again.
She listens, she explains, she helps. It’s simple, honest service — and it means so much to the people on the other end of the phone or email.
“I view each interaction as an opportunity to make someone’s day better.”
We couldn’t ask for a better way to sum up what we’re all about.
Home, Family & a Few Fun Surprises
Outside of work and school, Sophia has a full heart and a creative spirit.
- She loves to cook and bake
- Tends to her garden
- Shares her home with two cats and a dog
- Is incredibly close to her family
She walks 3.5 miles with her mom every Sunday and visits her grandmother twice a week. That’s not a small thing — that’s who she is.
And for a little fun: she used to be part of a line dancing team, she collects crystals and Christmas ornaments, and she enjoys playing video games when she finds a quiet moment.
All these little pieces are part of what makes her so special.
Local Roots, Lifelong Connection
Though born in Long Beach, Sophia has been in Petaluma since she was a baby — and she has no plans to leave.
“I look forward to seeing what further adventures lay ahead for me with ATCO.”
We do too, Sophia. And we’re honored to be part of your journey.
Thank you for the grace you bring, the example you set, and the warmth you share.
From all of us at ATCO — we’re lucky to have you.
If you or someone you know would be a great fit for our growing team, we’d love to meet you.
